Sulfo-Cyanine5.5 DBCO for in vivo near-infrared (NIR) imaging
Sulfo-Cyanine5.5 DBCO is a water-soluble near-infrared fluorescent dye derivative commonly used in fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry (excited by a red laser line 633–647 nm), and imaging of metabolically labeled glycans of living cells. Having an emission peak at 691 nm, the fluorophore is suitable for in vivo near-infrared (NIR) imaging experiments. Due to the presence of the DBCO moiety, a coupling with azide-modified biomolecules via a cooper-free click reaction is possible. The reaction proceeds at room temperature without any catalysts and provides the detection of azide-tagged biomolecules under physiological conditions. Sulfo-Cyanine5.5 DBCO exhibits an excellent brightness and photostability and can replace other near-IR dyes, including Alexa Fluor™ 680, DyLight™ 680, and IRDye™ 680 dyes.
